In this workshop attendees will learn how to get started with the esri ArcGIS StoryMaps platform using the new template for development. Other StoryMap templates will be reviewed and incorporated into the session, as will the basic functions and use of the ArcGIS Online Geographic Information Systems (GIS) platform.

The workshop will be facilitated by Marcel Fortin. Marcel is the Head of the Map and Data Library at the University of Toronto Libraries. He has been working with maps, GIS and data since the 1990s. He has a particular interest in Historical GIS, having co-edited the volume “Historical GIS Research in Canada” in 2014. He is involved in a number of Historical GIS projects that deal with land settlement in Ontario, Indigenous History and Toronto’s lost rivers and streams.
